POA Elections Committee Announces Qualifying Period |

Two positions on the Big Canoe POA Board will be open for election in 2008. The terms of John Lipkowitz and Roger Klask will expire in December of this year.
The "candidate qualifying period" will begin in March and end on June 30, in accordance with current governance documents. Any property owner, in good standing, who is at least 21 years of age, and has owned property in Big Canoe for at least 24 consecutive months is eligible to run for these positions.

In conjunction with a statewide water conservation program, Big Canoe Utilities is asking all residents, builders and contractors to exercise the following outdoor water use restriction. Effective February 12, 2008.
A level four drought response, with provisions, has been declared by the Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD).

Applications for Arts/Crafts vendors interested in participating in the October 11, 2008 Oktoberfest Festival, are available for download on the website (Downloads-Amenities)
and can be found in the information boxes that are located below the
Community Events Display in the Post Office. We are accepting 45
vendors. These applications will be available February 1, 2008, and also in the February issue of Smoke Signals.
