We have had an opportunity to meet with Roger Klask, Ev
Hughes and Wayne Huey to review the Tennis Consultant's report and proposal for
the Tennis Center. The report is very detailed and speaks
specifically to a combination of near term and long term ideas and needs for
the Tennis Center.
The details of the report can be found the article by Ev
Hughes and Claud Lacey, members of the Long Range Planning Committee, in this
issue of Smoke Signals . The report and
recommendations have been presented to the POA Board and the Board has given
preliminary approval to the proposals of the Long Range Planning Committee.
We met with Roger Klask, Wayne Huey and Ev Hughes during the
last week of February to work on a list of priorities, determine the capital
expenditure and establish a schedule and project list for improvements to take
place in 2008 and 2009 with beginning and completion dates.
The report, combined with the POA Board's willingness to
begin movement on some of the projects, is encouraging and much appreciated.
Your Tennis Committee has invited the POA Board to meet at
the Tennis Center
facility in order to show them the current appearance as well as share with
them our specific ideas for improvement.
We look forward to providing you specific progress reports
as they are available.
