Marketing and Communications Committee Charter
Mission Statement: The mission of the Marketing and Communications Committee is to provide a resource to the General Manager to evaluate and make recommendations regarding all aspects of the Marketing and Communications of the POA. This Committee serves at the pleasure of the General Manager.
Committee Purpose: To identify and recommend strategies and tactics intended to expand the use of all POA amenities by property owners, guests, and visitors.
To be a resource to the General Manager for study, comments and recommendations regarding issues and opportunities involving: the marketing of Big Canoe amenities to parties both inside and outside Big Canoe and POA communications.
To act as an advisory Committee to the Big Canoe POA General Manager and through that office to the Big Canoe POA Board of Directors.
Membership: The committee consists of a minimum of three (3) and a maximum of six (6) Property Owners, one of whom will serve as chairperson selected by the General Manager. The members will be selected by the Committee Chairperson from the community at large with selection emphasis on persons with marketing and communications backgrounds and experience, as well as their status as member or regular user of the POA amenities.
In addition, there are five (5) POA employee members of the committee. The initial members are the POA Marketing Director, the POA Director of Administrative Services, the POA Communications Coordinator, the POA Functions and Events Coordinator and the POA Director of Food and Beverage.
Qualifications: Property Owner members of this Committee must be in good standing with the Big Canoe Property Owners Association and be able to commit the time necessary to serve effectively on the Committee. Members will have an abiding interest in Big Canoe as a community and a commitment to open communications with Property Owners.
Term: The chairperson will be appointed annually for a one (1) year term by the General Manager. The chairperson may be appointed for consecutive years, but in no event for more than three (3) consecutive years.
Committee members will be appointed for three (3) year terms. Should a member resign at any time, a replacement will be selected by the chairperson to fill out the duration of that person's term.
Reporting Authority: The Committee is advisory only and has no authority to incur expenses on behalf of the Association or to obligate the Association in any way. Committee members report to the chairperson who in turn reports to the POA General Manager.
Meeting Frequency and Responsibilities: The Committee will meet at such times as may be decided as appropriate. Minutes will be kept for each meeting and posted on the POA website. The Committee will seek written input from both the membership and amenity functions on issues and will be expected to respond to their input. The Committee is responsible to ensure that Property owners are kept informed of the Committee's activities. The chairperson will also assure that the website information for the committee is kept current. Minimum information required is minutes, membership list with expiration dates and the committee charter.
