WHAT ARE THE PARKING RULES? 

Street parking should not block rescue and fire engine access. Overnight

DO YOU ALLOW RVS, MOTORCYCLES, AND ATVS?

Visitors cannot bring RVs into the community. Motorcycles, trailers and ATVs can be trailered, but cannot be operated on our roadways and must be parked overnight inside garages.

ARE SPEED LIMITS POSTED?

Yes. Please maintain posted speed limits, mind your speed near the mobile traffic trailer, do not tailgate, stay on your side of the road. No biking or skateboarding is allowed on streets, walking is prohibited on the main roads.

ARE THERE QUIET HOURS? 

Big Canoe has a strict 10 p.m. noise restriction. No noise should be heard past the property line after 10 p.m. Exterior lighting shall be turned off when not in use.

ARE THERE RESTRICTIONS TO OUTDOOR FIRES?

Outdoor fires not fueled by propane are not permitted in Big Canoe; violators are subject to a $5,000 fine. 

IS IT ALRIGHT TO FEED THE WILDLIFE?

Please do not feed the bears, deer or any wild animals. Bird feeders are allowed Dec-Feb only. As Big Canoe is a nature preserve, feeding wildlife is prohibited; violators are subject to a $5,000 fine

IS THE WILDLIFE PROTECTED?

Hunting, trapping, wounding, or killing wildlife is not permitted.

ARE PETS ALLOWED?

Dogs must be on a leash at all times inside the gates, including on the trails. Three dog parks are available for your convenience.

MAY I BRING FOOD TO THE BEACHCLUB?

Outside food may be brought into the Beach Club. Food and beverages are not allowed in or around the pool. Food is only permitted on the upper deck.

CAN I BRING MY PERSONAL KAYAK?

Personal boats, kayaks, canoes, and paddleboats must be registered with the Marina.

Garbage & Recycling

Located Near the North Gate

BIG CANOE TRASH SYSTEM

Big Canoe visitors are directed to use the centralized trash collection system located near the North Gate for household trash, aluminum and metal recycling. You will need a transponder or gate pass to access the facility. Most anything that fits in the open containers is acceptable for disposal, but flammables and refrigerants (such as freon) are specifically excluded.

Contractors must dispose of work-related trash outside of Big Canoe and are not permitted to use these containers. For more recycling options, go to East Side Recycling, 9720 Cove Road, Marble Hill, Ga 30148 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday - Saturday.
